Lily was lightly shown during 2015 while we concentrated on Kelly, Annaside Northern Star (Helenwood Black Ice x Annaside Celestial Dream) who was exported to Sweden in June. Lily qualified for Crufts at no less than the Cocker Club Championship Show under Duncan Craig and her Cocker Club Puppy Challenge qualification came at Paignton where she was 2nd in PB under Mrs J Miller. During the Summer she went Reserve Best Puppy in Show at Annandale under Tom Johnson and followed this at Dumfries winning the adult gundog group while still a puppy, under David Alcorn, whose critique was a delight to read.
Minnie is having a wonderful time in the ring as a puppy. At just 6 months and 3 days old, she was Best Special Puppy In Show at Selkirk under judges Gill Tulley and Bridgette Bodle. Under Janet Holland, she went Best In Show at Carlisle's Limit show. She qualified for Crufts at Driffield under Gary A Steele, 2nd in MPB, thus qualifying for the Cocker Club Puppy Challenge in January 2016. We now have both young girls at that prestigious event. At Rotherham Cocker Club, we had one of our best results, Minnie winning MPB from a class of 21, going on to be awarded Best Puppy Bitch under Alan Crossley. She went Reserve BPIS at Morecambe's limit show at the end of November.
2016 started in great style with Minnie reaching the semifinals at the Puppy Challenge, a great result for one of the youngest there. Meanwhile, Daisy was awarded BoB and Group 4 at Carlisle Open Show.
At Border County Gundog Show we achieved a first for us; BoB with mum, Georgie and BP with her daughter, Minnie. Well done girls. They repeated the result at Cumberland and Deane. In the meantime, Georgie was BoB at Jarrow at one of her last shows.
Minnie has taken over as top show dog; she's been best of breed several times recently and has been placed in the group too. Not a bad record for a youngster. She has been BoB and Group 2 on a couple of occasions lately and is maturing into a lovely girl.
We're delighted that Minnie gained her Junior Warrant in mid August; she's our very first to reach this top accolade. She also gained her Show Certificate of Merit in the same period with a couple of Group wins on the way. As she matures she'll be a force to be reckoned with in the gundog group.
2017 saw Ellie (Kelly), returned to us from Sweden, re-enter the show ring. After Michelle had finished grooming her to her own standard, she gained her stud book number at the Cocker Club Of Scotland in April and she followed this up with a win in the Limit class at Birmingham National. She has performed really well at open shows, gaining a number of BoB's and group placings.
Rosie and Ivy took it in turns to compete in puppy classes. Particular wins include Ivy's Best Special Minor Puppy In Show at Westmorland and Rosie's Best Special Gundog Puppy at Larkhall.
2018 has seen the re-emrgence into the show ring of Daisy, now a veteran. She quickly made an impact and after a reserve at Crufts and just over 6 years after winning RBPIS at Border Counties Gundog Club, she won Best Veteran in Show at the Cocker Spaniel Club of Scotland, following up with another success at Deane and District. She's consistently in the cards at championship shows and loves the day out.
In the space of 2 weeks in mid July, we saw 2 of our best results ever. At Annandale show, Ivy, just 22 months old, went Best in Show. It's a thrill we'd never before enjoyed and one shared by few in our hobby. Lily, now nearly 4 and 3 years since her RBPIS success, surprised us by going RBIS at Tonge and District; talk about durability! She gained her stud book number under Peter Pavey at Blackpool.
Ivy continues her winning ways by picking up a 1st place at the SKC champ show and with sister Minnie, won the brace class at Cheshire Cockers in October. She gained her stud book number at Border Union Championship Show. She was awarded BIS at Morecambe's Limit Show in Novemebe.
Minnie is maturing nicely and went back in the ring after a rest, in October. She won a good class at Cheshire Cockers before being short-listed for BIS.
In 2019 Ivy had a number of group placings including Group 1 at Morecambe. However it was Daisy's year. She was BV at Ulster Cocker Club and LKA, finishing as top UK veteran cocker bitch, runner up to the ever youthful Rodney. She achieved her veteran warrant (VW), gaining the final points at Dumfries, winning the Gundog veteran group.
Rosie's return to the ring in the autumn was nothing short of spectacular and she thrilled us by being awarded RBIS under Ian Sidgewick at Penrith in December.
Rosie's pups joined the team and both qualified for Crufts, Henry winning MPD at GSOW.
2020 started with a great win for Daisy at Border Counties Gundog Club, BVIS under Peter Pavey. Ivy was awarded RBIS at Carlisle's Limit Show in February under Jane Graham. Crufts followed and was a family affair with the blue team representing Annaside this year. Grannie Daisy was 4th in the veteran class and mum Rosie was VHC in the limit class, making it our most successful visit to the NEC.
March 2020 saw the end of dog showing, until May 2021, due to the pandemic. However, May 2021 saw the debut of our new black girl, Nellie, daughter of Ivy. Following in her mum's footsteps Nellie went on to win Best Puppy in Show at London Cocker Open Show which was held in conjunction with Southern Counties Championship Show. Nellie has gone on to win many placings at open and championship show level.
2021 also saw the debut of our little blue girl Dolly; daughter of Rosie and sired by Bitcon Black Endeavour. Dolly has had some wonderful placings and was shortlisted for the RBCC at Belfast Championship Show in September 2022.
